The World Input-Output Database is not the only project that constructs multiregional input-output tables. This page introduces the following prominent initiatives in this field:

OECD/WTO Trade in Value Added database

The 2015 edition of the TiVA database includes 61 economies covering OECD, EU28, G20, most East and South-east Asian economies and a selection of South American countries. The industry list includes 34 sectors, among which 16 manufacturing and 14 services sectors. The years covered are 1995, 2000, 2005 and 2008 to 2011

More information can be found on the website.

    Asian Development Bank, multi-regional input-output tables (ADB-MRIO)

The Asian Development Bank has included more Asian countries in the WIOTs in order to facilitate analysis work related to the Asia and the Pacific Region. Five Asian countries (Bangladesh, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam) have been added for the years 2000, 2005-2008, and 2011.

The publication on Global Value Chain (GVC) related statistics based on the ADB MRIOs can be downloaded here. National Input-Output tables for 18 Asian countries can be downloaded here.

    Sources and Methods

Note that during the construction process of ADB-MRIOs, the values for other countries were adjusted such that the tables were still balanced. Hence, these ADB-MRIOs do not exactly match with the WIOTs.

For questions about the ADB MRIO tables please contact Mr Joseph Mariasingham.

IDE Jetro, Asian International Input-Output Tables (AIIOTs)

Since 1975, the Institute of Developing Economies, Japan External Trade Organization (IDE-JETRO) has been producing international input-output tables with a focus on Asia-Pacific countries.

More information can be found on the website.

    Eora multi-region IO database

The Eora multi-region IO database provides a time series of input-output (IO) tables with matching environmental and social satellite accounts for 187 countries. All raw data are stored and processed together in one single balancing and optimization procedure.

More information can be found on the website.

EXIOBASE is a global, detailed Multi-regional Environmentally Extended Supply and Use / Input Output (MR EE SUT/IOT) database.
